Donald Lee England

Donald Lee England, age 76, of Shepherdsville, KY, passed away at his home on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was born in Louisville, KY on Friday, October 22, 1948, to the late Colbert and Patricia England. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Charlene England, and sister Debbie Clary. 

Donald had retired as a United States Postal Service clerk after 30 years of service. He was an Army veteran and obtained his bachelor’s degree in music education at the University of Louisville. While in the Army he played the Oboe. It’s easy to say that music was his true passion. He enjoyed reading, cross stitching, photography and woodworking. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Chris England and Julie England (Freddy Dixon); his siblings, Becky Slone (Cullen) and Shirley Appler; along with a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville KY. Visitations will on be Friday 1:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm.
