Donna Denise Miller-Hatfield, age 62 of Louisville, was welcomed on April 3, 2022, by her son, Aaron Hatfield, her daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hatfield-Beatty and her mother, Mona “Toots” Huff as she entered Heaven’s gates to be in the presence of her Lord JESUS. The reunion with her children and mother was surely a joyous occasion, exceeded only by the big hug from JESUS.
Donna was a connoisseur of fine cuisine. No one appreciated the intricacies of a “Big Boy” with extra tartar sauce or a “Hot Fudge Cake” with extra fudge more than she did. When in season, “Strawberry Pie” with extra whipped cream replaced the “Hot Fudge Cake”. She had too much class to allow sushi to touch those lips. In fact, just the mention of ethnic foods always resulted in a wrinkled nose as she said “No way” to her grandson or sister.
She attended Durrett High School, attended and was baptized at the Poplar Level Church of God and worked at Dispenser’s Optical until illness required an early retirement.
Her goal in life was to be a mother and she gave it all she had. She was blessed with a grandson to whom she was totally devoted. All the extra love and nurturing was given to her fur-babies.
She leaves to cherish her memory her grandson, DeWayne Beatty; husband, R.C. Hatfield; sister, Linda Cox (Dave); brother, Billy Huff; life-long friend and sister-in-law, Darlene Riggs; mother-in-law, Mary Simpson and a host of other family and friends.
Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville is in charge of arrangements; the family chose cremation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
