Doris Stivers Long age 67 formerly of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Danville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Long; parents, Earl and Sophia Newman; sister, Janet Arlene Beams, Linda Gillispie; brother, Dennis Newman. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Bobby Stivers, Charles Stivers (Carolee); sisters, Judy Clapp (Jerry), Rosie Lawson; brother, David Newman (Cathy); 6 grandchildren; step children, Mike Long, Deana Long and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be from Noon until 6 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with cremation to follow.
