Harvey Kern Johnson

Harvey Kern Johnson, age 92, of Fern Creek, KY (formerly of Shepherdsville) returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He was born in Shepherdsville on Thursday, October 20, 1932, to the late Charles Samuel and Della Mae Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his former wives, Peggy Boston Johnson and Pattie Brooks.  

Harvey was a member of First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville and was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and bowler. In his younger days he enjoyed playing basketball and softball. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and friends and was a wonderful dancer. He will be sadly missed by so many who loved him. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 26 years, Judy Johnson; his children, Debbie Elswick (Jakie), Terri Boston Claggett (Gary), Christi Miller and Kim Bartley (Curt); 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at First Baptist Church 254 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitations will be Monday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hardy-Close Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to KY Humane Society, Ally Cat Advocates or the charity of your choice.
