Jerry Ray Medley

  Jerry Ray Medley, age 74, of West Point, KY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born in Shepherdsville, KY on Friday, December 29, 1950, to the late, Joseph and Dorothy Medley. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Medley, his sister, Mary Dockery, and his Infant sister. 

He was a retired custodian of Nichols Elementary School where he worked for 30 years. He was truly a simple man who enjoyed time with his family, camping, going to the beach, and the lake. He will be sadly missed by so many who loved him.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Ann Medley; his children, Angela Marie Garcia (Brian Sheets), Debbie Thompson (Chad) and Jessie Medley; his siblings, James Medley (Janet), Daisy Barkemeyer and Roxie Pipes; his grandchildren, Makyndria, Preston, Jesse, Isabella and Adriana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Knob Creek Cemetery. Visitations will be Saturday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday 9 am until the time of service at 10:00 am.
