John Donald Yorke

John Donald Yorke, age of 82, passed comfortably in his home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on Thursday, May 2, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. John was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Saturday, January 10, 1942, to the late John and Mary Yorke. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Jerome Yorke. 

He had a very active and fulfilling life leaving his three sons John, Michael, and Peter; a sister, MaryAnn Montana; his grandchildren, John his wife Amanda, Braden, Cooper, and Samantha; a great grandson, Ronin along with a host of other family and friends. 

John graduated from Don Bosco High School with an excellent sports record in football and track. He attended Villanova and is a Seton Hall Alumni. He served in the Marine Reserves. John retired as an account manager for the care of special needs children in the state of New Jersey.

He was a previous exhalated ruler of the Elks. A member of the Greyhound Rescue Group. He qualified in marksmanship in the Olympic Trials and enjoyed playing billiards in the APA Pool League. 

The family of Mr. Yorke has entrusted Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with cremation.
