Joseph Michael Jones

Joseph M. Jones, age 53, from the South End of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born in Louisville to the late Norman Jones Sr. and Rose Jones. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 1 sister.

“Joe” was a funny man who loved to joke and tease with others. He always had a nickname for everyone he met and sometimes you could have multiple names. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for his charm.

He is survived by his children, “JoJo” Jones (Alyssa), Patrick Bliss, and Timothy Pennington (Amanda); his grandchildren, Kayden Jones and Katie-Lynn Pennington; his mom, Rose Jones; siblings, Barbara Gambrell (Ronnie), Jimmy Jones (Kathy), Janice Petty (Gary) and Sharon Hibbs Dane along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service on Tuesday.
