LaVerne Shepherd age 81 of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie (Shep) Shepherd; son, Duane Shepherd; parents, Audrey Coats and Lena (McCrady) Coats of Leitchfield, KY.; sisters, Juanita Ross, Wanda Clyde and Dorothy Hardin; brother, Junior Coats. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Thomas Coats (Joyce) of Leitchfield, Ky.; granddaughter, Raven Turner of Anchorage, AK. step daughter, Sonja Turner of Al.; great grandchildren, Amber, Darren, Brianna, Cody and Mason and also Melinda Thomas (Chris) of Shepherdsville, Ky. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Noon on Tuesday in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington.
