Mark W. Burden

  Mark W. Burden, age 73 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on Wednesday, September 17, 1952, in Louisville to the late Russell and Lovenia Burden.

  He was a member of Fairdale United Baptist Church where he was recently saved. He was a true sportsman who liked hunting, fishing and playing sports. He also enjoyed watching westerns and his daily soap-opera “Days of Our Lives”. Mark loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, dad, papaw, and brother that will be greatly missed.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Royce and Nick Burden, a sister-in-law, Donna and brother-in-law, Bob.

  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Anita Burden; his children, Kevin Burden and Tracy Burden (Steven Bryant); grandchildren,  Hailey, Steven, Alivia, and Gavin; great-grandchildren, Canon, Mason, Amari; his siblings, Roger, Lee (Tammy), Phillip (Linda), Bruce (Brenda), James (Bonnie), Gale and Jeff (Sheila) along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

  Funeral services will take place at 11am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Fairdale United Baptist Church, 10098 West Manslick Road, Fairdale, KY 40118 with burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Hwy.
