Melbert "Joe" Lewis Leslie

    Melbert “Joe” Lewis Leslie, age 79 of Shepherdsville, returned to his heavenly father on Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, January 30, 1944, to the late Ralph and Julie Leslie.

   He is also preceded in death by his sons, Delbert and James Leslie; his granddaughter, Santanna, and great grandson, Eli.   

   Joe was a Christian by faith, and previously worked as a tree trimmer for Nelson Tree Services. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling and time with his grandchildren.   

   He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Leslie; his children, Michael Leslie (Karen), Patricia Bragg (Jerry), Tammy Leslie, Kathy Eldridge, Jenny Francis (Larry) and Alisha Higgins (Eric); his brother, Elmer Leslie; 26 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends.   

  Funeral service will be at 12 pm Thursday, March 9, 2023, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street, Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Mount Eden Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday, 9 am until time of service at 12 pm.
