Richard Albert (Al) Abel, Jr, 82, of Shepherdsville, KY passed away March 24, 2012 at his residence. He was a retail associate for Kroger an Air Force veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Abel; children, Greg Abel (Joy), Sharon Tapp (Johnny) and Sheila Beck (Jason) and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at Scharrer Hardy-Close Funeral Home with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
