Roberta "Bobbye" Taylor

Roberta “Bobbye” Taylor, age 75, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Bobbye was born on Tuesday, December 19, 1950, in Bullitt County to the late Mattie and Robert Taylor.

Her education began at Bowman Valley School in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. She continued to Shepherdsville High School and ultimately earned her master’s in education at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Bobbye retired from the Bullitt County Public Schools where she served as a teacher and guidance counselor.

She loved all sports from college to professional, especially tennis. Being a faithful University of Louisville fan; wherever the Cards played, she went to cheer them on. She liked taking cruises, getting dressed up and going to dances. She loved watching tv, especially Hallmark or Lifetime movies. In her down time, she enjoyed reading a good book.

Bobbye leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Virginia Taylor-Hall (Michael); nephew, Shawn Givens; great niece, Alyssa Givens and bonus nephews, Michael and Markus Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Ann Taylor Givens and Edith “Neddie” Taylor.

A visitation for Bobbye will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 South Buckman Street in Shepherdsville. Funeral services will take place at 12 noon in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington with Keith Merriweather officiating.
