

Terry Ronald Hasting, age 77 of Shepherdsville, returned to his heavenly father on Friday, August 18, 2023. He was born in Athens, Alabama on Tuesday, July 2, 1946, to the late Leonard and Lila Hasting.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy JoAnn Hasting; along with siblings, Lendell Hasting, Anell Janes, Judy Tinnell and Danny Hasting.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a graduate of Shepherdsville High School Class of 1964, and had retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation District 5 after 15 years of service. Terry was loved by everyone he met, for his sweet gentle smile and soft-spoken humor. A man of many talents, he could do anything he set his mind to. He built his home in the early 80’s and proudly lived there until his passing. He loved to take trips with his family, and enjoyed gardening, outdoor scenery, wildlife, the ocean and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan. He was admired as “Coach Terry” by the young football players that he mentored.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years, Anita Hasting; his children, Craig Hasting (Tracie) and Chris Hasting (Karen); his stepchildren, Melissa Smith, and David Robertson Jr.; his brother, Tony Hasting (Paula); his grandchildren, Christina, Justin, Josh, Austin, and Kala; his great grandchildren, Connor, and Ella; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and sister in laws.
Funeral service will be at 11 am Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Immanuel Baptist Church 1810 West Blue Lick Road Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitations will be Tuesday from 2 pm until 8 pm at Hardy-Close Funeral Home and Wednesday morning at the church from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
