Virgil Samuels

   Virgil Samuels, age 81 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 6, 2021.  He was a member of Impact Church in Shepherdsville and a member of the Coon Hunters Club in Mt Washington.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Long; parents, Bates and Flora Samuels; 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

   He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon Samuels; daughter, Tammy Cochran (Bret); sons, Darrel Samuels (Tammy) and Michael Samuels (Vicki); grandchildren, Shelby Samuels, Jimmy Long (Candice); Kiesha Meenach (Doug), Darrel Samuels, Jr. (Jenny), Derek Samuels (Crystal), Andrew Dockery (Ana), Bryan Dockery (Shaunna) and Christopher Samuels (Stephanie); 7 great-grandsons; 9 great-granddaughters; sister, Hallie and a host of family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in the chapel at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville with burial in Mt. Eden Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 1 pm until 8 pm and Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 9 am until time of service at Hardy-Close Funeral Home.
