Wilma Adams

Wilma's journey began in the rolling hills of Kentucky, where she grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature that would become a lifelong passion. Her love for cooking, working in the yard, and tending to her flowers provided not only a source of joy for Wilma but also a canvas for her to express her love for family and friends. Her home was always filled with the aromas of her delicious recipes and the sight of her well-tended gardens.

Wilma's legacy is carried on by her son, Danny Adams and his wife Missy. She was a cherished grandmother to Mike and his wife Amber, Dannielle and her husband Danny, Chrystal, and Mandy and her husband Adam. The light of her life shone brightly in the eyes of her 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to grow in the warmth of her memory.

Also survived by Rosie Hopkins as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was a pillar in her family, offering guidance and love in abundance. Her family gatherings were legendary, and her absence will be deeply felt at every table and in every garden that blooms in her honor.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Wendell Adams. Also preceding her in death is her son, Donald Adams; granddaughter, JuLee Adams; brothers, Marvin Maggard and Jack Maggard; and sister, Doris Shortt.

As the seasons change and the flowers in her garden begin to bloom, we are reminded of Wilma Jean Adams and the beauty she brought into this world. Her spirit, like her beloved flowers, will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she loved. She has left us with a legacy of love, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

A visitation for Wilma will be held at Hardy- Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165 on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be the following day on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the funeral home chapel at 9:30am. Wilma will be laid to rest at her husbands side in Highland Memory Gardens.
