Amanda Elizabeth (Beth) Gilman

Amanda Elizabeth (Beth) Gilman, age 51, of Louisville, Ky passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, after a long illness. Beth was born in Louisville, KY on March 22, 1972, to the late Eldon Gilman and Amanda (Fox) Gilman Winstead. Beth had a take charge attitude when it came to helping the people she loved, she was a terrific mother and a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren, they called her (Nena). Beth liked fishing, cookouts, and entertaining family and friends, she was a very special daughter and wife to Tay, she will be truly missed by all her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Gilman, her grandparents, Freeman and Vera Gilman, and Lee and Marie Fox.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Amanda and Don Winstead, her beloved husband of 15 years Tay, her daughter, Heather Winstead, son, Derwin Julien (Ashley), daughter, Denisha Gilman (Jermaine) nine grandchildren, Lamya, Leilani, Dontae, Cameron, Wesley, Jaelynn, Jerron, Joyce, and Derwin, Jr., brothers, Mark Guffy (Randi), Tim Gilman, and sister, Lynn Gilman, along with a host of nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of her service at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
