Betty Jean Meadows

Betty Jean Meadows, age 91, of Louisville, Ky passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on May 31, 1933, to the late Samuel J. Jackson and Margrette Church. Betty was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed Home Shopping Network and loved her jewelry. Betty enjoyed watching the University of Kentucky play ball. She loved collecting the trinkets her family gave her. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband William E. Meadows, daughter Cynthia J. Pierce, son Jeffery E. Meadows, grandsons Joshua L. Sherrill and Michael J. Meadows, Zachary S. Chappell. 

She is survived by her sons William M. Meadows (Karen), David L. Meadows, James A. Meadows (Angie), and Joseph S. Meadows (Deanna). Her daughters Deborah A. Sherrill (James), Nelda J. Hazel (David), and Mary E. Reagan (Mark), 29 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 4211 Jim Hawkins Dr. Louisville, KY 40229. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). Entombment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
