Betty Jean Underwood

Ms. Betty Jean Underwood, age 74, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 30, 2016. Betty Jean was born in Louisville, KY on September 22, 1942 to the late Russell and Anna Wester. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, where she served in many positions of responsibility in her Father's Kingdom, including positions in the Relief Society, Young Women's Organization, Primary, and Sunday School. She attended Brigham Young University, was proficient in shorthand, a floral designer, an excellent seamstress who loved machine embroidery and made beautiful aprons for others. She was a devoted wife and a devoted mother. She had a passion for horses and her father's love of gardening. Trying new recipes delighted her. Her favorite moment was laughing with her five children, who adored her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shannon Stahura and her husband Rob and their children, Samantha, Seth, Sadie and Shad; daughter, Kerri Horton and her husband David and their children, Graeme, Ginger and Gavin; son, Zane Loren Underwood and his wife Traci and their children, Trevor, Boston, Gage and Mallory; son, Joel Underwood and his wife Tricia and their children, Austin, Shane and Abby; son, Beaux Underwood and his wife Martha; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Judy Gomez and her husband, Felix; cousins, John Russell Jones, Leah Donna Crabtree, Bonnie Phelps and her husband David and Nonna Collins and her husband Tom plus a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Floydsburg Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
