Betty Lou Wilkins

Mrs. Betty Lou (Riggs) Wilkins, age 80, of Louisville, KY, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Baptist Floyd Hospital. Mrs. Wilkins was born in Louisville, KY on April 3, 1944, to the late Minus Riggs and Flossie (Priddy) Riggs.

She was a member of Providence Church in Brooks, Kentucky. She was an avid lover of gardening and animals. She enjoyed spending time painting and coloring. 

In addition to her parents; her husband, Louis Wilkins; sisters, Helen Sidebottom and Wanda Vukmir; and brother, Russell Riggs preceded her death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shalmar “Sam” Gabbert (David); sons, Terrance Wilkins (Margie Crigler) and Monty Wilkins (Debbie); grandchildren, Holly Clemerson and Kayla Buske; great-grandchildren, Riley Hardin and Lucy Clemerson; great-nieces, Kayla Metzmeier and Sarah Vukmir; and great-nephews, Shelby Vukmir and Junior Vukmir. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm -8:00 pm and Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
