Brother Wallace is gone from us in flesh! But never in our Memories. I remember how quick witted He was. Full of Knowledge, and wisdom. He did His best not to take sides but stayed neutral. And when it came to the Bible: there where not many that could stand toe to toe with Him. Your whit and wisdom will be missed. We always Esteemed you higher than most. Our hearts are saddened about the passing of our friend Bubby Wallace.     My memory of Bubby was he would come by and pick my mom and my brother and I ( charletta) and take us to church. Richard and I send our love, prayers and sympathy to the Wallace family::   Bonnie, Mark & Jennifer, Heather & Brian and our dear, sweet Mawmaw Wallace. I can't imagine how you will go on without him, but I know God, the Great Comforter will always be there when you are hurting and your heart is breaking.  Vernon Wallace was a real man of 'Faith'. Our hearts are saddened at his passing, yet filled with so many wonderful memories. I will always remember him.. leading songs, singing in the quartet (what a blessing it was to play piano for the quartet) and his humor which could make anyone smile or laugh uncontrollably.      No matter who you were, when he talked to you he made you feel like you were 'his best friend'. I always felt special because he called me 'Sis'. I enjoyed & will forever cherish the many talks we had about the old songs which we used to sing in church.     We've lost a a very special friend & great singer! No longer is he singing 'I'll Fly Away'; 'Hold the Fort'; 'Everybody Will Be Happy Over There'; 'Oh, I Want to See Him'; 'When the Redeemed Are gathering In', but he is singing a 'NEW' song now, one which not even the angels can sing! I can hardly wait to join him!  We will all miss you, Cecil Vernon Wallace!   P.S. Hey, could you make a 'swinging door' for my mansion in heaven? Up there we won't be needing any lock or deadbolt like the one you put on our apartment down here after our break-in. (",)

Bro. Wallace was a dear and precious friend from the first time he greeted us in the foyer at Christ Apostolic, our first trip there. He was always smiling and never let a service go by that he didn't find us and have something usually funny to say. We appreciated his friendship far more than a few words here can express! Bonnie, Mark, Jennifer, Heather and Brian -   As I have thought about Vernon over the last few days, I keep coming back to the word Faithful.  He was a faithful husband and father.  He was also faithful to his pastors and church.  He loved his family and his church family!  To me, no greater thing could be said about a man than he was faithful and loving.  Vern had crinkles around his eyes, it wasn't from age, but from laughter.  When he was around you knew you would be laughing the entire time you were with him.     Enjoy those streets of gold and seeing your loved ones that have gone on before, Vernon!  We'll meet you in the morning!  We are here for you, if you need us, just a phone call away.  We Love You! So saddened to hear the news of the passing of a very special man. I have too many memories to write, but can say that Bro. Wallace was a true ambassador for Christ. He will be missed dearly, but I know that he is probably giving Jesus a few carpenter tips as the final preparations are made in Heaven before that day the trumpet is blown and the church is called home. To Bonnie, Mark, and Heather - our thoughts and prayers go out to you and if there is anything we can do, we are there for you along with a a host of others.

Heaven has gained a new worship leader! "Won't it be wonderful there, Having no burdens to bear. Joyously singing with heart bells all ringing, oh, Won't it be wonderful there!" We love you Bro. Wallace and can't wait to worship with you again in that "Happy land of Promise"! To Bonnie, Heather and Brian, Mark and Jennifer- our prayers are with you and we love you all so very much.

To the entire family of Brother Wallace, I pray that the Lord will comfort your hearts during this time of loss of someone so dear to your hearts. There are a lot of memories that I will hold dear of Bro Wallace. My dad(Bro.Donald Edgin) and Bro Wallace would say,Is Shively still lively and the other would say How's Bro. Oklahona?, He was one of the best song leaders ever...I remember him leading this one particular song...I'll live on.I'll live on, through eternity I'll live on. I'll live on, yes I'll live on through eter-ni-ty  I'llllll  live on!  My dad, Bro Wallace and Bro. Twyman were the bus drivers for church. Saturday was door knocking rain or shine..snow and sleet! Bro Wallace was a part of the mens quartet at church. Brother and Sister Wallace were one of several couples that were a part of the group that Mark and I were together on our first date in August of 1982 Needless to say in Oct. of that same year we were married. It will be 31  years this Oct 29th that Mark and I will be married for 31 years. Our oldest child will be 30 in Sept of this year and Brother Wallace along with Sis Wallace helped with our son's wedding in 2004. Bro. Wallace was a constant encouragement when my beloved hubby Mark developed stage 4 thyroid cancer. It was a very lonely and dark time in our lives on several levels. I could go on and on but I think If I could have but one word to describe Bro. Wallace as being... it would have to be "faithful". "Till we meet, till we meet. Till we meet at Jesus feet"... What can I say about Bro. Wallace that has not already been said.  Growing up I always looked forward to hearing him sing.  As I got older I not only looked up to him as a great man and leader of worship but quite the comedian and prankster.  Has been a rough year for many around here and I will keep his family in my prayers.  Now heaven not only has my mom in the choir but now someone to lead everyone with great worship songs.

With heavy hearts we say good-bye to a great friend and leader in the church.  Our favorite memories was a trip a group of us took to Gatlingburg Tenn. one Fourth of July. We had so many laughs its hard to make note of them all, but one that always comes to mind with a smile is the parade downtown gatlingburg on the fourth. It was so much fun and we laughed and laughed. Wonderful memories for sure. Mike likes to remember the banjo music we would turn up real loud and drive through the mountains letting everyone know we were crazy! Bro. Wallace had a great impact on our family, there has never been a time of need that the Walace family did not give their prayer and support. We love the Wallace family!

I am so sad to hear of your loss.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a wonderful man. He and Bonnie made me feel so welcomed as a new babe in the Lord. He baptized my youngest child. He made me laugh when I felt like crying. Such a warrior for God. I know he is now whole and most likely making the angels laugh. He will be missed. My prayers are with the family, may you feel peace and comfort at this sad time. Love the May family.

Bro Wallace was truly a man of God.  He was always making me laugh with his jokes.  He sure could make you smile even when you were having a bad day.  He will be missed so much, but I know heaven gained another angel.  Our prayers are with you Bonnie, Mark & Heather. Love all of you.

Bro. Wallace was a good friend to my family and the perfect example of a Christian.  Our lives were entertwined with Vern and Bonnie through church and friendship during our years in Louisville.  There were a few Sunday afternoons that they would take my son, Shane home with them and my daughter,  Rachel was baptized by her "Brudder Wawwace" at age 5.  What sweet memories to cherish.  Heaven's gain is definitely our loss, but run those streets of gold my dear friend and get another quartet together to greet us when we all meet again some sweet day! His imprint is on the lives of every child he baptized in the Louisville area.  What a great legacy he has left behind. I'll never forget his jokes while leading worship - especially comparing himself to Robert Redford!  His bounce and pep will be missed, but we know we will see him again...  "One glad morning when this life is over, I'll fly away"

Another mighty man of valor has gone Home to meet his Maker.  I cherish the times we shared together.  Vernon's dry sense of humor cracked me up.   He loved the Lord most of all, but you, his dear family, came in a close second.   Bonnie, I love you like a sister and will be as close as a phone call.  Heather, Brian, Mark, Jennifer and Mawmaw, I am so sorry for your loss, but  grateful that Vernon's suffering is over.  Now he and Harold can have a great reunion - completely healed.  Love you all.
