Charles Childress

Charles Childress age 77 of Okolona returned to his Heavenly Father on October 4, 2015. Among those whom preceded him in death are his parents Willie and Liza Childress; brother, Thomas; sisters, Frances, Della and Dolly. He was a member of local 576 and owner of Childress Pay Lake. Mr. Childress leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Doris Childress of 58 years; children, Tony Childress, Peggy Faulkner, Michael Childress, Chuck Childress, Angela Self; 8 grandchildren Josh, Chelsey, Kaitlyn, Bubba, Sara, Andrea, Megan and Brandon; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Rosaline Childress; brother, Larry Childress and a host of other family and friends. Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Schoppenhorst. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home Preston Highway with burial in Brookland Cemetery.
