Charles Lester Grider Sr.

Charles Lester Grider Sr., age 88, of Brooks, Ky, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 9, 2022. Mr. Grider was born on October 1, 1933 in Jamestown, KY to the late Lilburn and Isabel Foley Grider, he was retired from Abel Construction, Army veteran and a member of masonic lodge and a 32 degree mason. Among those who preceded him in death are his parents; his wife of 67 years, Margaret; brothers, Chester, Roger and Elbert Grider; sisters, Thelma Wooldridge and Lois Piercy ; grandson , Eddie May; great grandchild, Clayton Kunce. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Danna Grider, Rachel Murphy (Wayne) and Buck Grider (Gerri); grandchildren, Brandon Murphy (Jill), Lauren Kunce (Eric), Justin Grider (Ally), Casey Grider(Jennifer), Leslie Anderson (Kyle), Heather May and Cody Christy; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild;  and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 11am until  time of the service at the funeral home.
