Charles "Rodney" Rodney Stults

Charles “Rodney” Stults, age 48, of Bullitt County was received by his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on May 31, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky to Minnie Lou Stults and the late Charles Russell Stults. Rodney was a member of Journey Church in Shepherdsville and a former Band Director for Bullitt Central High School. He loved hiking, fishing and camping. He will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, his sense of humor and as a prankster. His students describe Rodney as impactful, dynamic and a mentor. He was a father figure to many making sure each of them felt secure and had a sense of belonging. It is impossible to count how many students’ lives he touched over the years. Rodney’s true passion was leading his family on adventures and creating lasting memories from the backyard and beyond. He loved people, all people, and made sure that they knew it.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elroy Willis. He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Stacey Stults; sons, Ben and Matt Stults; daughters, Chloe and Brenda Stults; mother, Minnie Lou Stults; sisters, Becky Baker (Greg) and Keri Stults; nieces and nephews, Josiah, Paxton, Elliott, Tyler and Katlei; mother-in-law, Kathy Willis; brother-in-law, Jeremy Willis (Jami) and a host of family and friends.

Memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 6 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Brooks Rd. at Preston Hwy.). Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

Akonda Ministries help people in Malawi Africa, Mr. Stults’s youngest daughter’s home country. Donations will go to help her family’s village as well as the Children’s home where she was originally raised.
