Born on July 21, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late David Sr and Juanita Harris Plush. David was known for his hardworking spirit and lifelong passion for automobiles. He retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of dedicated service, where he took great pride in his work.
Outside of work David was a talented mechanic who could often be found in the garage doing what he loved most – building hot rods, street rods, and preparing for drag racing. Cars were more than hobby to him; they were his passion and a way of life. He enjoyed attending car shows, admiring classic builds, sharing stories, and talking with fellow car enthusiasts about engines, restoration projects, and racing memories.
He is survived by his children, Pete, Kimberly, Brian, Ricky, and Kristina; grandchildren, Leah, Megan, Austin, Braden, Axel, and Otto; a brother, Michael Plush; sister, Patricia Morris; a friend who was more like a son, Bill Luckett; his loving dog, Cash; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends that loved and cared for him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1-7 pm at Hardy Close Funeral Home.
