Donald Foster Tewmey

Mr. Donald Foster Tewmey, age 90, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born in Washington County, KY where he attended Maude and Mt. Zion Schools. Mr. Tewmey graduated from Male High School in Jefferson County, KY in 1945. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Tewmey worked as a glass blower in the late 1940’s. He also worked as a route salesman and delivery man from 1951 until 1970 for Coca Cola Bottling Company. He was a manager of Sleep Mart Inc. Bedding for 7 years. In 1989, Mr. Tewmey retired as a furniture salesman from J.C. Penney. He was a member of Parkland Southern Baptist Church.

 Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Guy Thomas Tewmey and Della Simpson Tewmey; sister, Pauline Williamson; grandson, Brian Tewmey and nephew, Donald Williamson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 70 years, Marie Ferguson Tewmey; son, Gary Tewmey; daughter-in-law, Joanne Tewmey; grandchildren, Jennifer Bloom, Kyle Tewmey and Courtney Tewmey and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Savannah, Joshua and Jesse Bloom and Kara Tewmey.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with private burial in Evergreen Cemetery. www.subfuneralhome.com
