Born in 1926 to the late Roy B, and Letha Pearl (Grant) Wheat, Dora lived a full and adventurous life. She was married to her beloved husband, Command Sergeant Major Frank Zlobec, with whom she shared a wonderful marriage until his passing in 1991. As a military spouse, Dora embraced the journey of traveling the world alongside Frank, creating cherished memories abroad, including their time living in Germany.
Dora was vibrant, had an infectious laugh, always dressed to impress, and never hesitated to speak her mind. She brought fun wherever she went, had an enduring love for dancing, and her signature move was the twist, which she proudly showed off well into her 90’s.
Dora dedicated many years to serving military families, retiring from the PX at Ft. Knox. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose strength, humor, and warmth touched everyone who knew her.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Zlobec; her young son, Frank Stanley Zlobec II; and her siblings, Byron, Irene, and Lorine.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Linda, and her son-in-law Bill “Billy Boy” Cravens; her sister, Shirley; her granddaughters, Melody Walls (Eric) and Angela Vincent; and her 4 cherished great grandchildren, Harmony, Elliott, Camilla, and Everly.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to her dear caregiver, and friend, Tonya, whose dedicated care, and companionship brought extraordinary comfort and joy to Dora’s last several years.
