Dorsey Dean Powell

Mr. Dorsey Dean Powell, age 73, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Mr. Powell was born in Shelbyville, KY on September 23, 1947 to the late Dorsey B. Powell and Helen Ashby Powell.

He was a dedicated police officer for the Jefferson County Police Department, Chairman of the Board for Okolona Fire Department, United States Army veteran during the Vietnam era and he was a court security officer at the federal courthouse. He will be remembered as a wonderful grandfather who loved his grandchildren so much.

His beloved wife, Pam Powell preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Justin Powell and Ashley Henry (Jeff); grandchildren, Vivian and Victor Henry; sisters, Carolyn Powell (Jim Goodlett) and Barbara LaRue (Joe) and a host of other dear family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Okolona Fire Dept., Station One (8501 Preston Hwy., Louisville) with his memorial service at 2:00 pm.

Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
