Dwight Tucker

Dwight L. Tucker age 90 of Shepherdsville born April 6, 1922 and returned to his Heavenly Father March 16, 2013. Mr. Tucker was a deacon and Sunday school teacher with the Sunnyside Baptist Church, a world war II Naval Air Force veteran, a retired machinist for the old Naval Ordnance Station and a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #586 F.& A.M.

Among those who preceded him in death include his wife of 54 years, Emma Louise Tucker; parents, William Robert and Naomi Tucker; sister, Anna Laura Morris; brothers, Winfrey and Arvin Tucker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Bruce Michael Tucker and Steven Tucker; daughter, Melissa Eagle (Mike); daughter in-law, Hope Tucker; brother, Elwood Tucker (Peggy); sisters in-law, Ann Tucker and Eleanor Hedgespeth; grandchildren, Traci Eikenberry (John), Heather Earle (Tim), Jason Tucker (Angie), Kellie Tucker, Jessica Jackson (Matt), Michael Eagle II (Angie) and Luke Eagle; 7 great grandchildren; dear friend, Martha Bishop; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 12 P.M. Thursday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Friends may pay their respects from 12 P.M. until 8 P.M. Wednesday and after 9 A.M. on Thursday at Schoppenhorst. Expression of sympathy can be made to Sunnyside Baptist Church Mission Fund or Kosair Charities.
