Among those who preceded her in death include, her husband, Hubert Murray; parents, John W. and Francis Childress Hester; siblings, Hubert Hester, Herbert Hester, Hershel Hester, Loreine Hester, Evelyn Hester, Margie Hester and Gene Hester.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, John W. Harvey (Mary), Deborah Self (Ron) and Jim Harvey (Judy); 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; siblings, J.B. Hester, Louis Hester, Kerrin W. Hester, Virginia Hester Sanders and Carolyn J. Hester Moore; 34 nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
