Goldie Louise McGowan

Mrs. Goldie “Louise” McGowan, age 79, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Johnnie and Mae (Underwood) Murphy on July 16, 1944. Mrs. McGowan worked as a receptionist for Jewish Hospital. She was a member of Okolona Christian Church. Mrs. McGowan is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Henry Metcalf and Donald McGowan; sisters, Pauline Fields and Ruby Murphy; and brother, Bill Murphy.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Michael Metcalf (Vanessa); 3 grandchildren, Corey Crenshaw (Brandi), Dylan Crenshaw (Brook), Shelby Leister (James); 9 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Murphy (Barbara); niece, Barbara Ann Poole (Robert); and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
