She was born on June 9, 1960, to the late Arnold and Louise Ziegler. India lived her life with strength, determination, and a giving heart. She was known for her incredible work ethic and the pride she took in everything she did. No matter what challenges came her way, she faced them with perseverance, positivity, and kindness. She was strong-willed, stubborn at times, and bullheaded in the best way — qualities that helped her keep going, make things happen, and protect the people she loved.
India found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved shopping, traveling, and spending time near the beach and ocean. The warmth of the sun, the sound of the waves, and the peacefulness of the shoreline brought her comfort and happiness. She also loved Mickey Mouse and watching cop shows, but above all else, she loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly. Her greatest joy came from the people she loved, and she loved them hard.
One of India’s dreams was to swim with dolphins, a reflection of her adventurous spirit and her love for the ocean. She cherished every opportunity to make memories, laugh, explore, and enjoy life in her own special way. Those who knew her will remember not only her strength and resilience, but also her generous heart, her determination, and the love she poured into her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Louise Ziegler; a sister, LaTonya Patterson; and a son, Richard Stewart.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bradley Stewart; four grandchildren, Savanna, Dalton, Kaylee, and Austin; and all who knew and loved her.
India will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a beautiful example of hard work, strength, and unconditional love. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave will live on forever in the hearts of those blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Friends and family may pay their respects beginning at 12:00 p.m. until time of the service all at Hardy Close Funeral Home.
