He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Angela Marie Atwood; a best friend who was more like a father figure, Mike Mann; and his loyal horse, Wheaton.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Atwood; children, Jesse E. Atwood, James L. Atwood, Tierney Aubrey (Sabrina), Jerry Hubbard; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a brother, John Lee Atwood; and mother-in-law, Nancy Blakeman.
A visitation will be held at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 2-8PM.
