Jean Renee Grant

Mrs. Jean Renee Grant, age 79, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, with her family by her side. Jean was born in Ressaix, Belgium on March 27, 1946, to the late Woodrow Smith and Claire (DeBlock) Smith. She retired after 35 plus years with Dr. Frank G. Simon M.D. Allergist with 3 generations as a medical office manager. She loved to work in her flower garden, singing brought her great joy, it was amazing how she could just sing about anything. Jean loved living on the river and spending time on the houseboat with family and friends. She was always the life of the party, she was friendly and outgoing, always had a kind word and made time for others. She was a very charitable person; she contributed to many organizations that needed help.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grammy, memaw, and sister. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 brothers Michael, Bob, Frank, and Steve Smith.

 She is survived by her husband of 50 years Donnie Grant; 2 sons, David Grant and Darin Weber; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Grant, Zachary Grant and Rowan Weber; 1 great-grandchild, Jaxon Grant; 1 sister, Peggy Williams (Mike); 2 brothers, Jim Smith and Phil Smith (Shirley); along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16 , 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  After the service family would like for you to join them at, Okolona Church of Christ, (6105 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY.) for a time of fellowship. Cremation was chosen.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
