

Jimmy L. Cardwell, age 86 of Shepherdsville passed away August 21, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born and raised in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains near Pigeon Forge. He was an Army veteran from the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and retired from Continental Insurance. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Belva Wilson Cardwell. Son, Kevin (Karen) of Hixson, Tennessee. Daughter, Karen (Kevin) Perdue, grandchildren, Kayce (David) Dawley, Keri Sue Perdue, Kyle Perdue, and great grandson, Wilson Dawley all of Simpsonville, Kentucky. Three brothers, Rex, Jack and Bill and three sisters, Geneva, Wanda and Mary Lou and one special niece, Nancy Susan, all of Tennessee. Thanks to the many friends who have been a part of his life, especially the Larsen and Malecek families of Elizabethtown, Ky.
Memorial service to be held at 5:00 pm Saturday August 25, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd). Private burial will be held at a later date Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
