John L Drury

Mr. John L Drury, age 82, of Taylorsville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on March 13,1941 to the late William and Gertrude (Salzman) Drury. He was a Grand Master out of the Masonic Lodge #904, a Kentucky Colonel, and an avid UK fan. Mr. Drury was a United States veteran serving in the Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude Drury; brothers, Alan "Gene" Drury, William Drury II, Charles Drury; and sister, Loretta Radmer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia Drury; children, LaDonna Bohannon (Scott), James Drury (Susan), Talmadge Drury; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Mary Ellen Rhodes; brother, Fred Drury; several nieces and nephews; dogs, Jackie, Joey, Parker; cat, Mary Ellen; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15,2023 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Hwy 44 E at Winning Colors Dr) with burial to follow in High View Cemetery in Chaplin, Kentucky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
