Joseph B. Murphy, Jr

Mr. Joseph B. Murphy Jr, age 76, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on December 1, 2021. Mr. Murphy was born on March 14, 1945, to the late Joseph B. Murphy Sr. and Edna Rosalee “Link” Murphy. Mr. Murphy retired after 20 years as a diesel mechanic with Smiths Transfer and was the owner and operator of Muphy’s Excavating. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved animals, he was a great problem solver and peace maker, but most of all he loved his family.

He was predeced in death by his parents; 1 brother Buddy Murphy, 4 sisters Ella Schmittler, Mary Sanders, Beulah Paulley, and Frances Armstrong.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years Suzanne “Grant” Murphy, daughter Brittany McAlister (Edward), son Troy Murphy; grandchildren Keshia Frizzell, Dylan Murphy (Ellie) great-grandchildren Ricky and Vincent Frizzell, brother Shelby Murphy (Mary) along with a host of nieces and nephews’ family and friends, and years of great neighbors

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
