Joy L. Homeister Porter

Ms. Joy L. Homeister Porter, age 80, of Louisville, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Ms. Porter was a member of Okolona Separate Baptist Church where she lovingly served the Lord in the Sunday school.

Among those who preceded her in death include, her parents; her sons, Vincent Homeister, Billy Homeister and Charles “Buddy” Homeister, Jr. and her husband, Charles Homeister, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Regina Renfro (Arvin), Joy Irene and Billie Jo Robison (John); 31 beloved grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Dalton, Vincent Bailey and Thelma Kelly and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus or to the KY Humane Society.
