Julian Charles

Mr. Julian Charles, age 74, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Mr. Charles was born in Pikeville, KY on November 26, 1941 to the late Oliver "Hobby" and Norma Charles, he was Baptist by faith and he served the United States in the Army.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Carolyn Ann Charles; sons, Terry and Elvis Charles; brother, Gary Charles and sister, Joyce Clark.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Tracy Sunley and Kelly Kramer (Tim); stepchildren, James Dew, Angela Underwood (Dave), Tammy Alvey and Paul Alvey; 29 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Imal Charles; brother- in- law, Bill Clark; niece, Pam Clark; nephew, Lee Clark, his dear friend, Jim Smith; his canine companion, Buttons and a host of other family and friends, especially his friends from the lake.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 29, 2016 in the chapel of Preston Hwy. Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
