Linda Lee (Cookie) McCoy

Mrs. Linda Lee (Bard) McCoy, 75, of Louisville, KY, passed peacefully on November 7, 2022, at her home with her family and friends by her side. Linda was born October 5, 1947, to William Monroe Bard and Mary Lee (Freeman) Bard, at the old St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville, KY. Linda attended Gilmore Lane Elementary, Durrett Lane, and Thomas Jefferson High School, she went on to complete her GED, complete waitress training and computer school. She worked for the Family and Children Agency for 9 years, Woolco Department Store, and Paramont Pickles. She met her husband of 57 years at the corner of Indian Trail and Poplar Level Road at a gas station and they were later married at the courthouse on September 24, 1965. Linda enjoyed scrapebooking, bingo, puzzles, crafts, just to name a few, but one of her favorite things was Elvis Presley who she liked to sing and dance to. Most of all she loved her family and friends, and they will all miss her laughter and kindness for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father 1977, and her mother 1998, an infant brother, in 1945, and another brother Guy Monroe Bard in 1986.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 57 years Rodie McCoy, her loving daughter Mary Katherine (Kevin) Cash, sons William Jason (Angela) McCoy, Keith Wayne McCoy, four brothers, Jack (Nena) Bard, Rex (Frances) Bard, William Monroe “Bill” (Carol) Bard, Allen Bard; sister-in-law, Kathy Bard and four grandchildren, Mary Katheryne McCoy,  Hope Elizabeth McCoy, William Jason McCoy, Jr., and Abbylee Faith McCoy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends. Linda also had great love for her fur babies Ruby May, Rylee Earl, Chyna, and Bree.  

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 14, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday November 13, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of her service.
