Louis Beckmann

Louis B. (Louie) Beckmann Jr. age 70 of Bardstown returned to his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2015 after a long battle with a respiratory illness. Among those who preceded him in death include his father Louis B. Beckmann Sr.; mother, Virginia French; sister, Diane Prather. Mr. Beckmann was a Navy veteran and a retiree of the Carbide Industries. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He was a great story teller which he loved to share with his grandchildren. Mr. Beckmann leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years Donna (Bishop) Beckmann; daughter, Karey Hankins (Joe); sister, Pat Gallagher; brothers, Don Beckmann and Mike Beckmann (Patty); grandchildren, Abby Shelton (Jake), Michael and Katie Hankins; great grandson Jase Shelton; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted noon on Friday in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home Preston Highway at Brooks Road (use John Harper entrance) with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may pay their respects from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Schoppenhorst.
