Louis Aaron Cornett

Mr. Louis Aaron Cornett, age 87, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on February 4, 2019. He was born in Totz, KY on October 2, 1931, to the late Millard and Verda Elizabeth (Johnson) Cornett. He served in the Korean War and married the love of his life, Gloria Cornett on April Fool’s Day, 1950. He was a God fearing man, who loved the Lord, his John Wayne movies and working with wood. His creativity was shown through his wood working abilities. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Cornett, Donald Lee Cornett, James Cornett; sisters, Billie Jean Breeding, Barbara Cornett, and Carma Lou Cornett.

He leaves to cherish her memories, his wife of 68 years, Gloria Fay (Dixon) Cornett; daughter, Benita Cornett; sister, Janis Reece; brother, Johnny Cornett; loving family members, Lester and Patricia Sparks; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home and on Saturday, 11:00 am till time of service.
