Marie Hobson

Marie E. Hobson, 89, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky passed away on October 30,2023 at Green Meadows Nursing and Rehab with her family by her side. Mrs. Hobson was born on May 13, 1934, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky to the late Emery McCowan and Fannie (Sawyers) McCowan. 

Mrs. Hobson was a homemaker and raised her 12 children. She was a previous owner of a daycare and a past employee of Walmart when she resided in Tennessee. She loved to play Bingo and gamble at the casino. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Hobson; children, Tommy Hood, Donald Hood, Robin Hood and Loretta Hood; six brothers and 2 sisters. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Joseph Hood (Toni), Dinah Henion (Bill), Shirley Cramer-Finney (Thomas), Brenda Hood, Dennis Hood (Lisa), June Vititow (Donnie), Doris Haarman (Richard) and Toni McMurry (Jason); daughter-in-law, Tammie Hood; 27 Grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Loretta Motley and David McCowan.

The celebration of her life will be at the Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 123 Winning Colors Dr., Mt. Washington, KY 40047 at 6:00pm on Friday, November 3, 2023.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 3,2023 from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 6:00pm.
