Martha Alice Farmer

Martha Alice Farmer, 88, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026 (born June 26, 1938). The sky was swirled in storm clouds as she departed. Martha lived fiercely and fully. She was a tornado of honorable attributes: devoted, loving, protective, kind, and just. Her love knew no bounds. Martha was an optimist, despite dark days. She encouraged others with her blunt honesty. Martha was a force to be reckoned with, and her faith in God unshaken.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Farmer; her parents, Clarence and Cora Allen; her children, Debbie Davis and Shermie Farmer; and her siblings, Wanda Walker, Gracie Underwood, Robert Allen, Joseph Allen, and Thomas Ray Allen. Their memories remained close to her heart, always. She told their stories and shared their pictures, reminiscing until reunited again.

Martha is survived by her granddaughter, Heather Schneider and her husband Joe; her great-grandchildren, Kenny and his wife Jennifer, Matthew, Kaelah, and Chloe; her great-great-grandchildren, Levi and Landon; step-grandson, Devin, his wife Sahel and their daughter Sarah; and her siblings, Virginia Basham, Wallace Allen, and Marietta Cooper. She loved her family deeply, and the bonds they shared reflect her generous and giving spirit.

A visitation will be held at Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 S. Buckman Street Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165 on Monday,July 27, 2026 from 12-8pm.
