Mary E. Mayes

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mayes, age 67, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on June 30, 2013. Mrs. Mayes was a self-employed alcohol and drug addiction counselor and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, Richard and Mary Leamy. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 31 years, Roger Mayes; daughters, Beverly Bretanha and Judy Karl (Dennis); son, Robert Acciardo; step-daughters, Celesta Johnson and Tammy Mayes; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Judith Seymour (Charles), Peggy Vierra (Manuel) and Ann Marie Leamy; and brothers, Daniel (Maryte), Richard and Michael Leamy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church (197 Plum Street Shepherdsville, KY 40165) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10 am until time of service at the church. Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) is in charge of arrangements.
