Mary Elizabeth Phillips

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Phillips, age 78, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Mrs. Phillips was born in Jefferson County, KY on October 24, 1940 to the late George William Smith and Ollie Jeffries Smith.

Among those who preceded her in death include, her siblings, Durrett Smith, Ora Katherine Horton, Thetus Hudgens and Lee Nora Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 61 years, Walton “Happy” Phillips; daughters, Georgianna Stump (James), Helen Marie Guthrie and Molly Faye Mills- Kidd (Keith); 6 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ross and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10am, Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with a private burial at Brookland Cemetery to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
