Mary Thurman Smith

Mrs. Mary Noreen Thurman Smith, age 66, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Mrs. Smith was born in Bardstown, KY on February 25, 1955, to the late James Richard Martin and Mary Frances “Auberry” Martin. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed a good soap opera, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.

Among those who preceded her in death are her parents; her husband of 27 years William “Bill” Smith; her siblings, Harold, Chucky, Tommy, Leon, and Keith Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ricky Thurman (Laura), Jason Thurman (Amanda) and Corey Thurman (Kendall); grandchildren, Ashley Dunn (Nathan), Heaven Thurman, Kristen Holmes (Demyja), Austin Thurman, Brandy Thurman, Brooklynn Thurman, Ricky Thurman Jr. and Kandy Thurman; along with her great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, September 20, 2021, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
