Its been a year and a few months and gosh nathan, I miss you so much. Just sitting in school looking through all of the candles lit by other people... its just so sad. I miss you so much, there arent even words. All of us cousins talk about you when we get together. At your grave, there is a box that people can write stuff in. I know you cant see all these, but I guess its a sense of closure for a lot of people. I torture myself by reading all the candles, and tweets, and looking through pictures because I want so bad  to bring you back but I cant. To lose a family member is devestating enough, but to hear all the memories of people that miss you and were friends with you brings joy to the family because they know how much of an impact you were on other people. We all miss you so much. I love you Nathan.

Nathan I was very suprised to hear about you Im Dean and when you were a life guard when the other life guards werent looking you would let me do back flips i was only 7 now im 11 and i still remember though and prayers go out to you and your family(:

I wish Nathan could have seen how his Little Eagle's (Cayden) eyes lit up every time he saw him.  All we had to say to Cayden if he wasnt making good choices was "Your Big Eagle would like you to listen" and he would listen (mostly!)  It warmed our hearts to see him because he always had a big smile and hug for us, too.  I enjoyed seeing Nathan working at Kroger, too, because he would always stop what he was doing and talk to me for a few minutes.  Nathan, you were such a handsome, sweet young man.  I just wish you knew how many lives you touched in your short time here.  I would sing the song "Why" by Rascal Flatts, even though I can't sing!  Everyone will miss you, Nathan.

I will never forget the time in Mrs. Harris' class, freshman year when we would go on a bathroom break Nathan would always come back in the room telling Coach Courtney to go put ot the fire in the bathroom because kids were smoking!!!!!! It was deffinatly not a boring class with you in there!!! I will most deffinatly miss you!!!!!!

I will truly miss Nathan, he drove me out of my mind when he was in middle school. He did his best to get on my nerves,but it was not hard to love him. He could be really mischievous and yet very sweet at the same time.Sweet boy who will be greatly missed

RIP. I never really knew you outside of the wrestling team, but you were always funny, keeping the team laughing. We could always count o you to keep the team motivated. you made sure every member of the team was in a huddle with their hands in the air before we dismissed for the day, ending with everyone yelling "eagles!" which we will forever be.

I am so sorry for your loss.  He was too young and I'm certain you feel lost.  We are praying for healing for your family.  I didn't know your son but I can't begin to tell you how many people have been touched by him.  I have heard so many wnderful things about him and know you must have been very proud!

Although I never had the honor of meeting Nathan, I have been blessed with the committment Katie made to our D-group at OCC. I know the family is going through very painful times right now and my heart aches knowing the distress of loss. My constatnt prayer is that you find comfort in the arms of our Lord. He is truly our greatest healer and will send his angels to watch over you in this time of need. My other prayer is that Nathan, like his beautiful sister Katie, believed in the One who promised us life everlasting. John 11:25-26  Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. While we must say goodbye for the moment, it is a blessing to know it is not forever and one day the family will reunite in the mansion built of His great love.

this seems so unreal. never thought a kid who seemed so happy was so miserable. everyone loved him, he was so nice and he cared about everyone and he was so funny. i miss him walking through the halls yelling "Cheeeeyeaah" <3 we all miss & love him !!!

You were the guy that never stopped running for 90 minutes on the soccer field. You were the bulldog that never backed down once. You only had two moods, happy or pissed off, and neither one seemed to last over a day. Rest Easy Nate.

Rest easy Nathan you lived such a short life hope your in paradise.

This is a sad time. But at the same time I can't help but laugh at some of the things Nate did. He was so silly and ALWAYS put a smile on my face. Or made me laugh so hard I thought I would pee myself. When Nate and my daughter dated, Nate used to call me just to see what football game I was watching and come by and watch with me. I loved it (cause most of the time I was going for one team and Nate was going for the other. Nate was and will always be an outstanding young man. I know as hard as I'm taking this being a mom myself and loving Nate the way I did. My heart goes out to his Mother, Father, Step Dad, Sisters, & the rest of his family. But also to EVERYONE of you kids that are still trying to cope with this. I know North Bullitt hasn't been there for any of you, but we the parents are. If any of you need to talk, cry or just vent, please reach out to any of us! Whatever any of you are going threw the stress or not knowing if your how to handle it, we the parents will help everyone on you! That's my promise!!!! Nate I will miss you coming over to my house. Every time Nate did come over I would always tease him and tell him to put a shirt on, but it never worked. I would just laugh at him cause every time he would tell me, " Why would I put a shirt on when I look this good". He was just so funny. Nate LOVED and still LOVES his MOTHER, FATHER, STEP DAD, and SISTERS, & the rest of his family, I truly believe that. I know this memory page is for Nate, but before I close my thoughts on all this, I just want to remind everyone one of you kids out there that are having trouble with anything no matter what it is, PLEASE I beg of you go to someone close to you or me and lets just talk. Cause no matter what it is, we the parents can handle anything and fix it for you. That's what were there for! Thank you Nathan for all the laughs you shared with me and my daughter. Its like it was just yesterday when my mom and aunt Lee was hanging out with your mom and we was all at the skating ring being like 10 years old. I have nothing bad to say about you, you was one of the happiest kids  I knew. Always having a smile on your face, and everytime I seen you in the hall you had everyone you was walkin with laughing and smiling. I wish there was something me and Travis could have done, wish we would have asked you to hangout. Nathan came into my life two years ago.  I am a kindergarten teacher and he came to work with my students as a "Big Eagle."  When he walked in my room he had the biggest smile on his face.  He quickly became a true big brother to a student in my classroom.  He always showed up at school ready to work with this young man and was an important positive role model in his life.  I will always remember how dedicated he was to his role as a "Big Eagle."  I even said to my husband when he first came to my classroom that I hoped our son Denny would grow up to be as nice and caring a young man as Nathan.  I truely feel he had a calling to work with young people.  He made a huge difference in the lives of my students.  You could tell by the looks on their faces when they saw him come in the door.  He was a wonderful addition to our classroom family and he will be missed everyday.

Nathan was an amazing guy. He always had a smile on his face. Ill never forget the first day i met him last year , his smile too me was like Christmas morning! He will always be in my heart. Hes my guardian angel  Hopefully i will see him again in the future. I love you Nathan Alexander Irvin!

Nathan,  We went to school together , Ive known you for a big part of my life and you were always the same ol nate just laughed cut up and joked around but always an honest soul .. You all made a winter green hard rock candy in foods class and we all thought you were crazy, you always walked the halls sayyingg cheyaaa, you always did something that no one expected and everyonee was waiting on what you would do next some even said you wouldnt graduate but you proved them wrong as well!! Nate you will truly be missed and i hope that your in a better place now , All of us that you left behind will be with one one dayy we are all just one huge family in this little community that we call home .. Nate my man, i can't believe you are gone. We was co-workers at maryville pool.  Both me and Alex helped you become a lifeguard for maryville and we ruled that place. I remember a time where the diving boards were still around and we would not do much of anything until th breaks. Once breaks hit, we was splashing everyone and having the best time.  I still can't believe your gone bro. Your memory will live on in every single one of your beloved friends who's life you touched by your sheer presence.. I know I'll never be the same. Nathan, I remember when we went to Overdale. I'm not talking about the volunteer work we did there with the kids. I mean when we were the kids. Haha. I was so jealous of how sporty and athletic you were. I couldn't keep up! Especially in our epic battles of Ultimate Four Square in gym class. We would always team up and get everybody else out. You would do all those crazy tricks all the time. You could get an audience faster than anybody I've ever seen! I'm sorry there wasn't anything I could do, but hey, I'll see you again one day buddy.. I always remember Nathan always yelling and being his loud self. I wouldn't trade the memory of him for anything. He came over a few times when he and Hunter dated. Nate, I'll never forget the day we met in elementary school. We would always play together on the same kickball team at recess! And who could forget all of the times that we had racing each other at the skating rink?! Long story short, we grew up together as childhood buddies, and ultimately became best friends. You weren't just my teammate man, you were my brother. I knew if I ever needed someone to turn to, you were the guy to call. Some of the best memories of my life were spent with you. We promised each other that we would be each other's best men at our weddings. Through thick and thin, we always had each other man. You loved my family as if they were your own. I promise you that my kids will know all about their uncle Nathan. You are loved by so many people Nate. I wish you could still be here with all of us today because without you here man, there is a part of me that's missing. Save me a spot up there in heaven for me bubba. I remember Nate's joking personality and infectious smile in my class.  He was in my math class in my first year teaching.  I often had to wake him and stay on him to do his work, but I mostly remember him causing me to laugh.  When he wasn't sleeping, he was joking and taking up for other student's.  I remember staying after school with him after one of his car windows was broken and having a long conversation about life.  I was privileged to be able to know and teach Nate. Nathan, I know it's been a while since I've seen you and we didn't get to talk much when I did last see you, but I didn't think it'd be the last time. Nathan was a great guy. One thing I really admired and respected about Nathan was his dedication. No matter what task he was assigned, he always put fourth his best effort to get the goal accomplished. There's not too many people with the same ambition as Nathan. May the lord be with the family of  Nathan.

I had gym class with Nathan last year and every day we always knew when he was in school, by his loud "CHEYEAHHH" Wouldn't mind hearing that one more time. Had a lot of fun with Nate. He was a great guy and always was laughing, smiling, or just hanging out.

Nate, words can not describe how i feel right now. I can't believe this, i don't want to believe it. You were always so energetic and full of life. I wish there was something we could have done for you.  We were close, but drifted throughout highschool, no matter how late you would be for class, you would stop to give me a hug, and talk. You were such a compassionate person, you were always doing or saying something to help others. I wish i had that chance to help you. It's true when we say NBHS is a family. I feel like i lost a brother. So do many other. You will never  be forgotten. I have always had respect for you, and i always will. To me, you will always be that wonderful person with that incredible smile stretched ear to ear. That's how i will remember you. I will see you up there someday, and we will tell our stories to one another. Love you Nate, watch out for all of us! Rest easy, and fly free.

Nathan, Your passing has taken my breath away. I just talked to you at Kroger not that long ago, and told you how proud I was of you for getting your GED.  I won't forget seeing you spit dip in the back of Mrs. Conn's class, and never saying a word. You just smiled like you knew that magis smile would keep me from saying a word. It did. Nathan,  I can't believe you're gone. I keep thinking about how much of a wild child you were in Ms. Lehue's class in 2nd grade. I remember because I always thought you were funny, and then Ms. Lehue would tell us not to laugh, it only encouraged you, which it did. Everytime I saw you in high school you always had a smile on your face. It brightened the room. We didn't talk much in high school, but you were always so nice (and funny) when we did. You were everybody's friend, and I just can't believe you're gone. We all love and miss you Rest in peace Nate  #13 forever and always.

I will always remember having Nathan in class, trying to wake him up and get his work done so that he could pass.  A picture of Nathan remains in my phone of Nathan in his soccer hoodie, head down on his desk, trying desperately not to do his work.  I will miss him.

nathan and me used to leave school early sometimes and go rim roar through out hillview, we always got along. the was never a time when nathan didnt put a smile on my face. everyday i would ask him for a pinch of dip and it was followed by "damnit matty b youre killing me". i knew nathan since i knee high to a piss ant. i had several classes with nathan and he was the life of everyone. even outside school he could change the mood of anyone just by talking to him. nathan was such a happy person even after his passing walking through hillview or through you can still CHYEAH!!! every where you go. his face and smile along with his lively attitude will be missed so much. we love you big dog and well miss you so much.
