Opal "Jeanie" Jean Adams

Mrs. Opal Jean “Jeanie” Adams, age 88, of Hillview returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Mrs. Adams was born on July 28, 1933 in Democrat, Kentucky to the late Samuel C. Sergent and Polly Ann (Taylor) Sergent. She worked as a teachers aid at Overdale Elementary, Hebron Middle School and Bullitt Lick Middle School. Mrs. Adams was a member of Antioch Old Regular Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Phillip Quinton Adams; brothers, Richard Ray Sergent, Henry Warren Sergent, Chester Sergent, Ronald Buford; and sisters, Ethel Sanders, Emma Lou Engle, Sarah Sergent.

She is survived by her children, Christy Ann Jackie (John), Calvin Phillip Adams (Mary); grandsons that she adored, Carson Quinton Adams and Cameron Lee Adams; sister, Anna Goins; her granddog and main companion, Coco; along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00pm and again on Thursday from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
