Patricia Howlett

Mrs. Patricia Lynne (Cosby) Howlett, was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 6, 1964, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2025, surrounded by family. Patty enjoyed playing the piano, big band music (secretly dancing with her husband at home to this music), animals of all kinds and most of all family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. Cosby Sr. and Carole (Pentecost) Cosby; her brother, Robert L. Cosby Jr.; grandparents, Marlin (Malcom) Pentecost and Joseph Lewis Pentecost, Anna (Burton) Williams and Larry Williams. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, two children, Andrew and Addy; two sisters Barbie Nall and Shannon Nicole Cosby-Nelson (Randy); nieces and nephews, Alexis (Jess), Lillith, Astrid, Hunter, Silas as well as a host of pets, family and friends. Patricia was affectionately known to her family and friends as Patty. She dearly loved her family and friends. She was a loyal and hard-working employee at all of her jobs throughout her career. She dearly loved all kinds of animals and has several pets that will dearly miss her. Patty graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University. Patty was a die-hard University of Louisville fan. She was also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan along with her father and brother. After fulfilling her wishes to be cremated, Patty’s ashes will be placed with her parent’s and brother’s ashes on family property that previously housed the log cabin that she grew up in. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd).  Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the local Cancer Society or to a local animal shelter.
