Phyllis was a woman whose greatest gift was bringing people together and whose greatest joy was her family.
A talented crocheter, she found happiness in creating things with her hands and sharing her love through the little things she made. She was also a wonderful storyteller, always ready with a story, a memory, or a moment that brought laughter and connections to those around her.
She was a believer in Christ and loved her church family, she loved having her family together, making memories through holidays, travels, sunny days, and trips to the beach. Whether enjoying the warmth of sunshine, feeling the sand beneath her feet, or simply sitting surrounded by the people she loved, she knew how to treasure life’s special moments.
One of the family’s most cherished memories will always be the Christmas chili dinners-a tradition filled with love, laughter, good food and the togetherness she treasured so deeply. Those gatherings were more than just meals; they were a reflection of who she was and what mattered most to her. Her love will live on in the hearts of all those who know her.
Along with her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by a sister, Yolanda Lovelace.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 60 years, Ron Hires; sons Russell (Jeannie) and James (Tammy) Hires; grandchildren, Nickolas (Ana) , Roman, Tyler (Holly), and Alyssa; and great-grandchildren, Lance, Corbin, Hunter, and Miles.
Cremation has been chosen by the family. No services are scheduled currently.
